Unveiling the Layers of Healing: The Power of the Subconscious Mind

Healing Trauma is a lot like peeling an onion

Healing, in its essence, is a journey that often traverses through the intricate layers of our subconscious mind. Like peeling back the layers of an onion, each revelation brings us closer to understanding ourselves and our wounds. Our subconscious mind, a reservoir of memories, beliefs, and emotions, holds the keys to our healing journey. Exploring its depths unveils profound insights into our struggles, pains, and ultimately, our path to wellness.

I recently read in the book The Mindflow Technique, a quote that stands out as a guiding light: "The highest self generates tasks for us that are stored in the nervous system in the form of blocks, some of which are generated ourselves." This statement encapsulates the essence of healing as a multi-dimensional process. Let's unpack this quote and delve into the layers of healing it illuminates.

The Subconscious as the Storehouse of Experience

Our subconscious mind serves as a vast storehouse, storing every experience we've ever had, from childhood to present-day. It holds onto memories, both pleasant and painful, shaping our perceptions and behaviors without our conscious awareness. These stored experiences form the foundation of our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us.

The Language of the Subconscious

"The highest self generates tasks for us that are stored in the nervous system in the form of blocks..." This statement speaks to how our subconscious communicates with us. These 'tasks' or 'blocks' manifest as physical symptoms, emotional triggers, or recurring patterns in our lives. For instance, chronic back pain might be a signal from our subconscious, indicating unresolved issues such as stress, overworking, or emotional turmoil.

"Some with carried with us from birth and others. We’ve received from our surroundings..." Our subconscious is not only influenced by our personal experiences but also by societal norms, familial beliefs, and cultural conditioning. From a young age, we absorb the beliefs and values of those around us, shaping the lens through which we view ourselves and the world.

Unraveling the Subconscious Blocks

"A block acts like a road sign..." When we encounter these subconscious blocks, they often present themselves as road signs along our journey. These signs are not meant to deter us but to guide us towards introspection and healing. For example, if we constantly find ourselves in toxic relationships, it could be a subconscious pattern stemming from childhood experiences or past traumas.

"...for example, wicked payback paying because we’ve worked ourselves too hard..." Our bodies are particularly adept at translating subconscious issues into physical symptoms. Stress, anxiety, and unresolved emotions can manifest as physical ailments, reminding us of the interconnectedness of mind and body.

"...or if we look at the sign saying back pain, we can address it, however, if instead we take painkillers, the reason for the back pain cannot be worked through..." This highlights the importance of addressing the root cause rather than merely alleviating symptoms. Painkillers may provide temporary relief, but they do not resolve the underlying issue stored in the subconscious mind.

The Wisdom of the Subconscious

"The highest self looks and says: has the block gone no okay then I’ll put something else on it." Our subconscious mind operates from a place of wisdom, continually nudging us towards growth and self-awareness. If we ignore the messages it presents, new blocks may arise, signaling that there are still layers to uncover and heal.

"This continues into a resolve the blocks." Healing is a continual process of unraveling these subconscious blocks. Each layer we peel back brings us closer to understanding ourselves on a deeper level. It requires courage to confront our past traumas, beliefs, and fears, but doing so allows us to release what no longer serves us.

Embracing the Subconscious for Healing

"The body has an incorruptible memory and physical memory." Our bodies carry the imprints of our subconscious experiences. Even when our conscious minds forget, our bodies remember. This is why addressing healing at the subconscious level is crucial for true and lasting transformation.

"As humans, we preserve experiences." We hold onto these experiences, both positive and negative, often unaware of their influence on our daily lives. Recognizing and acknowledging these subconscious patterns is the first step towards healing.

Conclusion: Navigating the Layers of Healing

In conclusion, healing is a multi-layered journey that requires us to delve into the depths of our subconscious minds. The subconscious holds the key to understanding our past, unraveling our present, and shaping our future. By paying attention to the subtle messages it presents, we can embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing.

As we navigate the road signs of healing, let us remember that each block is an opportunity for growth and transformation. By addressing these blocks with curiosity and compassion, we pave the way for true healing to occur. May we embrace the layers of healing with open hearts and minds, trusting in the wisdom of our subconscious to guide us towards wholeness.

In the words of The Mindflow Technique, What happens on the intellectual level is not direct access to the nervous system and cannot resolve blocks in the nervous system." True healing involves a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit. Let us honor the wisdom of our subconscious, trust in its guidance, and embark on this journey of healing with courage and grace.
