Healing is not always a straight path; it’s a journey of discovery, deep reflection, and often, unexpected detours. When I first started searching for answers—why I felt blocked from my emotions, how past trauma was still affecting me, and how to heal after breast cancer—I turned to books for guidance. Each book I read became a stepping stone toward my own transformation. Here are a few that profoundly impacted my journey.
Cut the Crap by Joanne Antoun – My Eye-Opening Moment
This was the first book that truly shook me awake. Cut the Crap helped me recognize the limiting beliefs and emotional baggage I had been carrying for years. It was an eye-opening moment when I realized just how much unresolved trauma was shaping my present. The book introduced me to Combined Therapy Cocktail (CTC), a therapy designed to clear emotional blockages and limiting beliefs in one session.
At that time, I considered booking a session with a CTC therapist, but I faced a significant hurdle—a money block. The cost of a session felt beyond my reach, and I had to make peace with the fact that I needed to find another way to heal. So, my search continued.
The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson – Unlocking My Heart Wall
Determined to keep moving forward, I discovered The Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson. This book introduced me to the concept of the heart wall, a barrier of trapped emotions that can prevent us from fully experiencing love, joy, and connection. I decided to work with a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner to begin releasing my heart wall.
The experience was life-changing. As I learned more, I realized I had the ability to release trapped emotions myself. With the guidance of a mentor and further study of the book, I developed the confidence to clear emotional blocks on my own. This was a pivotal moment in my healing journey.

The Universe Has Your Back by Gabby Bernstein – Trusting the Process
As I grew more connected with energy healing and emotional release, I wanted to deepen my understanding of the universe’s role in our healing. The Universe Has Your Back by Gabby Bernstein came into my life at just the right time. This book helped me shift my perspective from fear to faith, teaching me how to surrender control and trust that everything is unfolding as it should.
It reinforced the idea that healing is not just about clearing past wounds but also about embracing the present moment and believing that we are always supported by the universe.
The Great Little Book of Afformations by Noah St. John – Shifting My Mindset
Finally, I discovered The Great Little Book of Afformations by Noah St. John, which introduced me to a powerful new way of thinking. Unlike affirmations, which state positive beliefs in the present tense, afformations turn these beliefs into questions. Instead of saying, I am healed and abundant, you ask, Why am I so healed and abundant?
This simple shift rewires the subconscious mind to seek answers, reinforcing positive change in a natural and effective way. Using afformations helped me break through limiting beliefs, including my deep-seated money blocks, and step into a more empowered mindset.
The Ongoing Journey
Each of these books played a crucial role in my healing journey, guiding me through different stages of self-discovery and transformation. If you’re on a similar path, I encourage you to explore these books and see how they resonate with you. Healing is a deeply personal journey, but sometimes, the right book at the right time can be the catalyst for profound change.
Have you read any of these books? Or do you have any that have helped you on your journey? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
With love and healing,
Banika
